This upcoming survey-based study will assess the presence, sources, and severity of mental health stigma across diverse religious communities, with a focus on Muslim, Christian, and other faith-based groups. Using a Qualtrics instrument approved by the OU IRB, the project aims to collect responses from at least 1,000 adults (ages 18+) to understand how spiritual beliefs, communal norms, and theological narratives influence perceptions of mental illness. Findings will directly inform the HOPE intervention, guiding awareness campaigns and culturally tailored strategies to reduce stigma and promote compassionate, faith-aligned mental health support.
