This study will use the validated RCOPE scale to examine how positive and negative religious coping strategies influence mental health outcomes and help-seeking behavior among practicing Muslims, Christians, and members of other faith groups. The research will also include an experimental component measuring the short-term psychological effects of listening to Qur’anic recitation compared to silence or alternative audio content. By identifying which forms of spiritual coping support healing—and which may discourage professional care—the findings will guide HOPE’s intervention strategies to challenge harmful theological narratives and reinforce constructive, faith-aligned approaches to psychological support.
